When setting up game campaigns, always:
check the number and order of prizes
verify the correctness of prize IDs
consider whether prizes should be activated using assigned promo codes
Probability of winning
If a game has multiple prizes, each prize has its own percentage probability.
We recommend that the sum of all probabilities be 100%, but this is not mandatory – Mailocator can handle other sums as well.
Prize ID
Each prize has its own unique ID that you can specify yourself.
If necessary, Mailocator can pass this ID to an integrated service (e.g., an e-shop or e-mailing) and use it for further processing.
Prize text
For each prize, you set the text that will be displayed to the user after completing the game.
The text can also contain HTML tags (short code snippets), for example for formatting or links.
If you are passing the prize text to an integrated service, we do not recommend using HTML to avoid display issues.
Promo codes and prizes
For each prize, you can
assign a group of promo codes, or
assign no codes.
Important behavior:
If at least one prize has a group of promo codes assigned to it, Mailocator only draws from prizes that have codes. Other prizes are automatically ignored and will never be drawn.
This way, you can create prizes that are displayed in the overview but are not active.
If no group of codes is assigned to any prize, the game will run as usual and the promo codes will not be used.
How the prize is transferred to the campaign content
Mailocator allows you to automatically transfer information about the prize drawn directly to the campaign content or to the linked integration using variables (placeholders).
The following tags are available:
{{PRIZE_ID}} – ID of the prize drawn
{{PRIZE_NAME}} – name or text of the prize
{{PROMO_CODE}} – assigned promo code (if used for the prize)
Specifics of individual game campaigns
Wheel of Fortune
The Wheel of Fortune must have the same number of prizes as the wheel has segments.
Otherwise, the prize drawn may not correspond to the segment on which the wheel stops.
Prizes must be arranged in the exact order in which they appear on the wheel, clockwise.
Advent Calendar
The prize ID must correspond to the day on the calendar, so typically IDs 1 to 24 are used.
If any IDs are missing, the calendar for that day will not work and the prize will not be displayed.
